100% Leicester wool dyed with Madder
100g skein = 225 m / 246 yds
Wool from Leicester sheeps from Sibbarpsschaferi Farm in Skåne, spun in Skåne at Karlsbergård Spineri and hand-dyed by us at Alltkemi. 100% traceable, local and plastic free yarn.
This wool is perfect for crochet and weaving projects. The shine and colors of this yarn are amazing and will show throughout your project! However, we do not recommend this yarn for knitting projects. It lacks the bounce and stretchiness for it.
Observe that it is a heavy yarn, but very thin. So the length by weight ratio might correspond to DK yarn, but we recommend working with smaller needles.
Note: For this saturated color be aware that the yarn might bleed during the first wash and also on your hands while crafting. For the firts wash we suggest you add some white vinager to the water to avoid it bleeding in excess.
This yarn is dyed with natural dyes which means variation in color can occur between skeins from different batches. As with other hand-dyed yarns we recommend you purchase enough skeins for your project in one go and we suggest alternate skeins every few rows to blend colors evenly.
